MEDIUM: Art quilt

DESCRIPTION: The Mindful Scribbling series is based on a set of drawings created at a time when my life got complicated, I was emotionally spent, and I found myself unable to work in my studio for almost a year. As I struggled to rebuild my art practice, I was initially only able to produce scribbles. But, over time, these doodles have grown to become complex layered drawings that offer visual insight into my state of mind.

#2 includes both hand embroidery and machine embroidery (from my own original stitch files). Several of the embroidered motifs are graphic encryptions of text. The viewer is left to guess at the meaning of these designs that appear to be something more than random.
